AGES 6 MONTHS - 5TH GRADE
Whether in House Churches or at our Hub, Homechurch Kids is a safe and fun environment where your kids will be well cared for & loved.
At Homechurch, we are committed to practicing the way of Jesus, together in Pittsburgh. We want everyone, adults and children, to lean in and discover what it means to be with Jesus, become like Jesus, and do what Jesus did.
We hope the info below provides a path for you and your children to practice the way of Jesus alongside us. If you have any questions, reach out to Lindsay, our pastor of Next-Gen Ministries at Lindsay@homechurchpgh.com.
Church Together FAQ
How does drop-off work for Nursery + Preschool?
Children ages 6 months to preschool can be dropped off at Homechurch Kids as soon as you arrive! Register your child and check them in at the iPads near our kids' area. Please print a label for your child and their diaper bag (if needed). Hold on to your parent tag - you’ll need to show it after the service to pick up your child.
How does drop-off work for K-5?
When you arrive, please register your child and check them in at the iPads near our kids' area. Be sure to print a name tag for your child. Kindergarten through 5th grade will stay with their parents in the main gathering until after worship. At that point, they’ll be prayed for and dismissed to Homechurch Kids.
Hold on to your parent tag - you’ll need to show it after the service to pick up your child!
Are Kids workers background checked?
Yes, all of our kids workers are required to complete a full background check before serving on Sundays. For safety, we also ensure that there are always two team members serving in the kids room at all times.
What is your diaper change policy?
Join the TeamWhen you drop off your child, please let us know if you’d prefer to handle diaper changes yourself, or if you’re comfortable with our trained staff helping. If you’d like to change your child’s diaper, we’ll text you if needed. Please keep your phone handy during church!
What if my child has separation anxiety?
We find that most kids can be redirected and calmed within 5 minutes. If your child is inconsolable after 15 minutes, it's likely better for everyone for your child to be reunited with you! We'll text you if that is the case, so please keep your phone with you and available during church.
Are parents allowed to stay with their children?
Due to our requirement for all adults to be background-checked, parents are not allowed to stay in the kids room with their children. However, if you would like to keep your child with you in the main meeting, you are more than welcome to.

Church Anywhere FAQ
How will Kids Ministry work in homes?
We’ve preparing a “Kids Ministry in a Box”, ready-to-go kit with all the lessons, games, and supplies in one place. That way, any host home can easily create a safe, fun space for kids to encounter Jesus, without needing a big program or specialized staff.
All children will stay with the adults during worship, but will go to their designated kids area afterward. We'll have a pre-recorded lesson, game, and memory verse for the kids to enjoy!
Are Kids helpers background checked?
Yes, all of our kids workers are required to complete a full background check before serving on Sundays, whether in homes or in our hub!

Does every house church offer something for kids?
Each of our house churches might look a little bit different, but all of them will have a lesson for children! Because our house churches are proximity-based, we are prepared for kids in any of our house churches.
