How We Gather

With 79% of Pittsburgh residents claiming to believe in God, but only 29% actually attending a weekly service, there's an entire generation who are spiritually hungry yet deeply wary. We believe we will need to innovate so that a weary world might rejoice and see Jesus as the One whose love still heals, whose truth still sets people free, and whose Kingdom is still good news.

In Acts 2, we see a simple but powerful rhythm in the early Church:

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer,” (Acts 2:42) and, “every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts.” (Acts 2:46)

The Church gathered both publicly and privately, worshiping in large spaces and sharing life in homes. At Homechurch, we follow that same rhythm. We alternate between Church Anywhere (in homes scattered around the city) and Church Together (corporate worship),  believing both are essential for spiritual formation, authentic relationships, and shared mission.

Church Together
happens on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays, when we come together as one church family to unite for worship, teaching, and the cultivation of a shared vision and identity.

Church Anywhere
meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays, gathering in homes across our city for meals, prayer, and spiritual conversation.

This rhythm reflects the wisdom of the early church and what God is inviting us into. It is not centered on a building or a stage, but woven into the places we live, work, learn, and play. It keeps us embedded in neighborhoods, present in everyday spaces, and empowered to be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever we go. It is a movement of spiritual families becoming grounded in presence, unified, and sent for the renewal of Pittsburgh and beyond.

Formed by the Spirit, together we are learning how to be with Jesus, be like Jesus, and do all that He did so that God's kingdom would be revealed on earth as it is in heaven.

Church Together

1st, 3rd, and 5th Sunday of the Month

Location: Homechurch Hub*

Our Church Together Gatherings include moments of worship, teaching, and shared vision that remind us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves. They help us stay rooted in our shared mission and connected as one spiritual family across neighborhoods. They form us as a people being sent for the renewal of our city.

*Our Homechurch hub location is an ongoing search! When we find our hub, we’ll update it's location here!

Church Anywhere

2nd and 4th Sunday of the Month

Location: Homechurch Communities (Homes scattered around the city)*

We believe that spiritual formation takes place in community. Our Homechurch Communities are small groups of 10–15 people meeting in homes across the city, supporting each other in practical ways and loving our neighborhoods well. We take time each week to eat together, pray for one another, share life together, and create space for the Spirit to speak. Through deep relationship and accountability, we are able to transform our lives to become more like Jesus.

*Each group will include shared teaching, discussion, and a meal. Some will offer children’s ministry for ages 6 months to 5th grade. We’ll post more details and how to join once home locations are finalized.
