Our pre-launch gatherings are the place where the foundation of Homechurch is being laid. You can think of them as “beta” home gatherings. They are Sunday services in our home that reflect the kind of gatherings we hope to multiply across the city when Homechurch officially launches in March with a rhythm of both home and corporate gatherings.
What are pre-launch gatherings?
These are our “beta" home gatherings where we will eat a potluck breakfast, pray, worship, and practice the way of Jesus together. These gatherings also prepare us for launch in March 2026 when we’ll officially begin our alternating rhythm of meeting in homes and meeting corporately.
What can I expect?
At each gathering, we’ll begin with a potluck breakfast and time around the table. From there, we’ll move into worship and prayer, hear a short teaching, share communion, read scripture, and join in meaningful discussion.
These times are simple and family-style, creating space for both kids and adults to grow together as we prepare for the future of Homechurch.
Why are you having pre-launch gatherings?
Join the TeamWe know our way of gathering is a little different! These gatherings give us space to live it out, learn together, and grow.
They’re also where we build our launch team and seek God’s direction for Homechurch, so that by launch we’re prepared to multiply healthy home gatherings across the city.
For context, the launch team is a group of people God has brought together who feel the pull of His vision to help launch Homechurch well in the Pittsburgh region. They embody and carry the mission by generously supporting the call God has given us, praying with intentionality, serving in practical ways, and inviting others into life with Christ and into this new community.
Some may be part of the journey for a short season, others for the long haul. Together, the Launch Team helps carry what cannot be carried alone, pioneering a church where the spiritually homeless find a family and our city finds healing.
Will there be kids ministry?
Right now, we don’t have a formal kids ministry at our Pre-Launch Gatherings. Kids stay with us in the flow of the morning, and we keep things simple with space for them to play, color, or join in as they’re able.
Looking ahead, as we move toward launch, we’re preparing a “Kids Ministry in a Box”, a ready-to-go kit with all the lessons, games, and supplies in one place. That way, any host home can easily create a safe, fun space for kids to encounter Jesus, without needing a big program or specialized staff.
